Une année parmi les loups is a documentary that follows a photographer and a painter who retreat to a remote cabin on the border between Finland and Russia in order to observe a wolf pack.

Inspired by frozen, pristine landscapes, the music explores the idea of slowing time to rediscover life’s value. It unfolds at an unhurried pace, embracing silence and an ethereal stillness that mirrors the landscape itself.

The piano accompanies Yves and Olivier, tracing their emotional journey through moments of excitement and boredom, its liveliness contrasting with the tranquil soundscape. The haunting voice of the wolves – crafted from the human voice, both altered and raw – embodies the bond between humans and nature rather than their separation.

Together, these elements shape a constantly evolving musical narrative, where nature, humanity, and the mystery of the wolves intertwine. The film closes with Hide No More, as Charles’ intimate voice invites us to embrace the wilderness instead of hiding from it.
